I went to see Gerard this morning and was there when the ICU specialist came in. He explained to us what the options and risks are for stabilising his neck and that there is availability to do it tomorrow afternoon (we had originally heard Friday). The doctor told us that pins and rods in Gerard’s neck would be his preference over the halo (they don’t do many of them anymore at the Austin). So Gerard has agreed to go through with the surgery which will take about 5 hours tomorrow afternoon. It was so good to work through that with him and make sure he was okay with it and not pushed into anything. I sat there telling him that he didn’t have to decide now, but he’s keen to make some progress and get out of ICU. So he let me know that it was okay for me to sign the forms and he is all good to go tomorrow. No other hot gossip. Max and Zac are planning to go to basketball training tonight and to be at school in time for first period tomorrow (skip home group and chapel). We will see what happens tomorrow. Please thanks everyone. We know we have a big team behind us and it’s going to be a long haul. Suexx
